Want Senate to Pass Transportation Bill

August 25: Laborers rally, want Senate to pass transportation bill from The Post-Tribune

  • A crowd of more than 200 construction workers chanted "We're ready to build Indiana!" at a labor rally Tuesday in support of a transportation bill languishing in the U.S. Senate. David Frye, field representative for the Laborer's International Union of North America Indiana District Council and a half-dozen other speakers led the rally, aimed at getting the Senate to approve a House-passed transportation bill to get laborers back to work. Their goal is to rebuild America's middle class by funding the rebuilding of Indiana's and the nation's crumbling bridges, roads, dams and schools.
