What does MAP-21 do?

The Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) Coalition heralds the passage of the H.R. 4348 Conference Report in both the House and the Senate on Friday, June 29 - one day before highway, transit, and safety programs were set to expire.

"This legislation will save thousands of jobs in construction and related industries and strengthen the nation’s economy and global competitiveness. By enacting this bill, Congress and the Adminstration have taken a concrete step toward job creation in this country," according to Janet Kavinoky, Vice President of the ATM Coalition.

The conference report passed both legislative chambers in overwhelmingly bipartisan majority votes. In the House, it passed by a vote of 373-52, while the tally in the Senate was 74-19.
