ASCE Phone App Gives Americans New Ways to Take Action for America’s Infrastructure
June 1, 2015 (Reston, VA) – ATM Coalition member American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has released iPhone and Android phone app to give Americans even more ways to get the message to Congress about the need for sustainable investing in America’s infrastructure.
ASCE’s “Save America’s Infrastructure” phone app for iPhone and Android comes on the heels of Congressional passage of a short-term transportation infrastructure extension that provides funding for the Highway Trust Fund for just two months. The app includes:
- The Report Card for America’s Infrastructure
- State facts (including how many structurally deficient bridges are in the app user’s county based on zip code and TRIP’s data on poor road conditions by state).
- An action center, where users can send a letter directly to their members of Congress about the need for a long-term surface transportation bill.
- Push notification, which lets users know when it’s most important for Congress to hear from them.
