Ed Talks: America’s Infrastructure Gets the Howard Stern Treatment
A friend of mine was commuting home last week when he heard The Howard Stern Show play a clip of me speaking about the poor condition of U.S. roads.
It was an irrefutable sign that fixing and modernizing the nation’s transportation network are no longer just inside-the-Beltway issues.
They are American issues.
I was using the latest infrastructure report card from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as a launchpad to explain the need to grow infrastructure investment, particularly for the nation’s transportation network.
As a result, Stern and news maven Robin Quivers — purveyors of the often-provocative program which reaches millions of listeners — discussed the importance of President Trump and policymakers prioritizing the country’s infrastructure, noting it is a topic people can support and rally around.
I have been part of an ongoing Radio Media Tour (RMT) to help the Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) Coalition build awareness for new bipartisan federal infrastructure legislation that establishes long-term transportation funding. Trump campaigned on infrastructure, and members of Congress have promised a strong infrastructure bill as advocacy on Capitol Hill and throughout the entire nation continues to grow.
Enjoy your summer.
