New Digital Ad: America’s Economy & Future Count on Federal Investment in Modern, Safer & Faster Transportation

The Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) Coalition has released a new video on why transportation investment should be a driving concern as federal lawmakers make progress toward enacting an infrastructure modernization package.

The one-minute digital ad is running on social media in targeted areas. It juxtaposes a slow turtle and sleek cheetah to illustrate the historic moment our country faces in improving mobility, powering our economy, and ensuring jobs and safety.

“Infrastructure investment has become a perennial topic in America and we know we have a lot of policy issues to resolve, but we don’t want the nation’s transportation needs to be minimized,” says ATM Executive Director Ed Mortimer. “We wanted to do something that has some creative punch.”

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the ATM, which brings together varying voices in the labor and business sectors. Members emphasize the national and regional importance of funding for the United States’ interconnected roads, bridges and public transit.

Along with ongoing federal advocacy, ATM reinforces messages through a mixture of strategic content. The ATM creates and uses email blasts, social media, stories, podcasts, videos and Radio Media Tours (RMTs) to broaden understanding about what is happening across America as transportation infrastructure ages and funding lags.

ATM’s mission to maximize federal investment in transportation helps advance the issue in, and dialogue beyond, Washington, D.C. The Coalition’s call for substantive and bipartisan reauthorization legislation continues as revenue for the Highway Trust Fund (HTF) wanes and user-fee solutions are explored.
